The Money Smokers

A few weeks ago I attended Sydney University's Beat The System Stage at Beachball. I was only able to be there for about an hour, but lets just say in this case I timed it perfectly. The Money Smokers are a goat among sheep in the world of contemporary bands, distinguishing themselves from the all to familiar generic 'cool' indie band. They present a refreshing rock n' roll sound combined with a hint of country twang and moody soulful blues. This unique sound complimented by a raw style that comes straight out of the seventies left Beachball goers jiving to a groove that could easily be compared to greats such as the Rolling Stones.

The bands lead singer Tristan James captivated the busy Beat The System stage boasting the swagger of Axel Rose and oozing charisma that could melt a girls heart. I've got to say I like these guys and I'm happy to see there are bands out there keeping the old flame of real rock stars burning strong.

I got inspired by all this reminiscing, to take the photos back in time with a little bit of Black and White retro flare, enjoy.

Make sure you check out The Money Smokers!
