I headed down to the Annandale Hotel with a few good mates to check out RüFüS and our friends Hattie Carroll. The electronic RüFüS graced the stage with their cool new-age beats and inspiring vocals. I had never heard much of these boys but had listened to snippets of their stuff on unearthed. Most notably, their last song "Paris Collides" was definitely my favorite track . Its no surprise that these boys have been killing it on the Triple J unearthed charts.
It had been a while since I last saw Hattie Carroll and it was evident that the band, with the new addition of Sean Dooley had really worked on their sound. They played a few new chilled tracks and a few re-worked favorites that I quickly recognised as "Chuck Taylor", "Ballina" and "Zoo". As per usual, I was awed by Stewie's sweet sweet vocals and I really enjoyed the noisy delay sounds that guitarist Jamie was making. At one point he was shredding so hard that he cut his finger open but continued to play. I wish i didn't have to leave so early...
